Me, wearing a hat
Hi, I'm Bruno Santos - a software engineer, team lead, and lifelong learner who believes that great software is built by curious minds working together.
My journey into engineering started with a mix of fascination and frustration. Fascination with the idea that you could build something from nothing but logic and creativity. Frustration because, in the beginning, nothing worked quite like I imagined (but that challenge hooked me). I've been chasing better, simpler, more elegant solutions ever since.
Over the past 17+ years, I've worn many hats: backend developer, technical lead, mentor, problem-solver, and sometimes the person who untangles the mysterious "why is this on fire?" moments. I've built systems for startups finding their footing, scaled platforms for established companies, and led teams across time zones and cultures. Along the way, I've learned that technology is the easy part. People, communication, and trust are what make projects succeed.
I'm deeply motivated by the craft of software development: writing code that's clean, maintainable, and thoughtful; designing architectures that stand the test of time; and fostering environments where engineers can do their best work. For me, leadership is less about titles and more about creating the conditions for others to thrive: listening, mentoring, and making space for different voices at the table.

Outside of work, I make time for the things and beings I love: spending time with my wife, our cats (Mrs Nesbit and Buzz Lightyear), and our dog (Dom Pisco José). You can also find me brewing some coffee, playing the guitar, getting lost in a good book, or hitting the road for trips.
